Darnall's Gun Works and Ranges has been a family owned business (shooting range and gun shop) for 4 generations.
My grandfather, combining his trade as a gunsmith and passion as an outdoorsman, first opened the doors to his new business in 1923. Then called Bloomington Gun Company, and located in Downtown Bloomington, it continued to serve the Bloomington, Normal Illinois area until 1984. In that year, I renamed the business and moved it to its current location in order to establish indoor and outdoor range facilities and expand its list of services
We are Central Illinois' only year-round Indoor and Outdoor Ranges.
With Trap, Skeet, and 5-Standing Sporting Clays. In addition to our array of covered shooting ranges, we offer personal instruction and training in firearm safety and use for self-defense. Throughout the year we host a wide variety of leagues and events including: SASS Cowboy Action Shooting, 3-Gun, IDPA, and various trap and skeet leagues for business and organizations in town. We are also home to the longest running NRA Youth Shooting and Hunting Camp in the United States and the Central Illinois Precision Shooter’s Facility, which provides an Olympic-level training opportunity for youth interested in air gun and rimfire rifle shooting

With over 100 years of combined experience between our gunsmiths, we are the place to go to fix your gun troubles. Our gunsmiths are a combination of apprenticed and formally-trained, boasting a degree from Pine Technical College and S&W armors certifications in revolvers and semi-autos from teachers at the S&W factory. We’ve got you covered!
From the first day of business the Darnall family has provided a place where sportmen are served by people just like themselves... sportmen.
Our philopsopy: Treat customers like family and build a community in which all shooters can feel apart of.
We believe that this philosphy has served our business and community well for over 100 years, and continues to do so. So come on out and join the family!
